About the project

Hospitality Design, in highly successful collaboration with GAJ and Riddler Shepherd Lowe Architects for Dene Murphy of Mirage Mille, undertook the visionary project of creating the Arabian Court—a celebrated world-class spa resort that serves as the pinnacle of the Royal Mirage 65-acre masterplan. Infused with the beloved vernacular Emirati style, this triumph of operational efficiency and financial success has become an iconic luxury destination at the heart of Jumeirah Beach and Palm Island.

From the outset, the project aimed to encapsulate the essence of authentic Arabian houses, and a series of interlinked courtyards designed in the style of beloved Emirati architecture were crafted to create an enchanting sense of discovery and curiosity. Inspired by Andalusian gardens, these courtyards unfold a seamless journey through shaded sanctuaries, housing bistros, a Shisha coffee shop, and outdoor lounge areas. Employing a stack effect, the courtyards naturally cool the colonnades during the arid months, enhancing the overall guest experience through thoughtful passive cooling.

The grandeur continues as guests enter the spectacular colonnaded entrance lobby, setting the tone for a stay defined by luxury and authenticity. Nestled among the tranquil beach gardens, the One & Only Spa is a masterpiece styled after authentic Arabian Hemamms, with the grand central hot slab under the rotunda spa concourse offering a unique and immersive experience. Drawing inspiration from Persian bath houses, this spa, along with the well-being guest villas, provides a perfect hideaway in the midst of the vibrant atmosphere of Jumeirah Beach and Palm Island.

The Arabian Court stands as a testament to the meticulous collaboration between Hospitality Design, GAJ, Riddler Shepherd Lowe Architects, and the visionary direction of Dene Murphy of Mirage Mille. This attention to detail, from the colonnaded entrance to the interlinked courtyards and the spa designed in authentic Arabian Hemamms style, has not only solidified its reputation as a celebrated destination but has also ensured its standing as a financial success and operational triumph within the competitive landscape of spa resorts.

A spectacular colonnaded entrance lobby binds four shaded landscaped courtyards, inspired by Andalusian gardens, provide secluded enclosure containing bistros, Shisha coffee shop and outdoor lounge areas.  The courtyards are cooled by stack effect and bring passive cooling to colonnades during the arid months. Nestled among the tranquil beach gardens is One & Only Spa, styled after the Persian bath houses which together with the well-being guest villas, provide a perfect hideaway in the midst of busy Jumeriah Beach and Palm Island.
